ATTENTION renters & rental providers did you know there are new regulations for rental electrical obligations as of 1st April 2021?

Mandatory annual smoke alarm testing & maintenance by electricians.

Rental providers must provide renters with the following –

• How smoke alarms in the rented premises operates.
• Information on how to test smoke alarms.
• Information about the renters obligations to not tamper with smoke alarms.

BF Electrical Solutions offer a flat fee of $49 to annually test smoke alarms in rental properties. Will send rental providers automated messages upon completion and reminders of rentals requiring the mandatory maintenance when necessary.

The rental provider must ensure an electrical safety check of all electrical installations, appliances and fittings in the rental premises is conducted every 2 years by a licensed or registered electrician.

If an electrical safety check has not been conducted within the last 2 years at the time the renter occupies the premises, the rental provider must arrange an electrical safety check as soon as possible.

BF Electrical Solutions offer a service fee per home of $199 including GST and safety certificate to conduct the mandatory electrical safety audit.

Once completed, BF Electrical Solutions will email a copy of the audit and any potential requirements that need to be rectified to pass the electrical safety audit.
